Buckeye

One of the original sections of the Raleigh Greenway, the Buckeye Trail runs next to Crabtree Creek through a lush forrest and the best bird watching areas in Raleigh, NC. The Buckeye Trail is just off the Beltline on Raleigh Road and runs almost to Wake Med Hospital. This section offers a great deal of solitude and a chance to walk alone with a steady flow of loyal of greenway users passing by. This is a very safe Section of Greenway.

The Buckeye trail offers many benches for resting and and a few small flat fields to enjoy a picnic or a game of soccer. One of these fields offers an area of shade trees and easy access to Crabtree Creek.

The Buckeye Trail extends to the walkway across Snapping Turtle pond and onto the Capital Blvd. boardwalk and further down the asphalt path is Lassiter Mill. Just follow the map.
