As the Capital Blvd Boardwalk becomes asphalt, the wet lands and Forrest of the Middle Crabtree Creek Greenway come into sight. Straight paths give way to curves and creek crossings after you cross under Wake Forrest Road.
The woods are busy with construction noise while the quaking ducks utilise the creeks as a landing strip as the ducks move up and down Crabtree creek. The adjoining woods are quickly being turned into condominiums as this area quickly becomes one of the most populated sections of downtown Raleigh.
An overhang structure under a train tresses as it curves with with the creek. As the Greenway straightens as you pass the old Long branch Saloon and always open Raleigh Ale House.
Fast becoming one of Raleigh's downtown retail centers the Wake Forrest Road offers Greenway users a chance to use Raleigh's Greenway to take care of their errands. Put a basket on your bike and drink coffee from the book store while you shop for groceries and office supplies.
